Moscow (VNA) –
A symposium themed “Career and ideology of President Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam and the world” was held in Moscow on September 9 with the participation of Russian researchers, scholars and students.

As part of the activities within the Vietnam-Russia and Russia-Vietnam Friendship Year, the event is meant to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of the President (1969-2019).

Presentations at the event focused on President Ho Chi Minh’s role in Vietnam’s revolution, and his influence on the building of a law-governed state in Vietnam as well as the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

They praised the late leader as a great international revolutionist and an international cultural activist.

Associate Prof., Dr.  Pham Quoc Thanh from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities told the Vietnam News Agency on the sidelines of the event that the scientific research studies on the President’s career and ideology will be published in a book titled “Ho Chi Minh in Vietnamese and global retrospectives.”

Prof. and Doctor of Economics Vladimir V. Mazyrin, who is head of the Centre for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies under the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, lauded the President’s contributions to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.

On this occasion, organisers displayed some books on Vietnam and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Russian and English published by the Centre for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies.-VNA
