Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son has expressed his wish that Vietnamese and Lao legislative bodies will continue their coordination and facilitate joint investment projects, helping spur socio-economic development in each country.
At a reception for head of the Lao National Assembly’s Committee on Cultural and Social Affairs Phonethep Phonsena in Hanoi on January 12, Son noted with joy the strong and fruitful developments of the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity in a range of areas, from politics to socio-economic affairs, national defence and security.
He commented on the enhanced legislative ties, as evidenced through regular exchanges of high-ranking delegations and inter-parliamentary friendship groups.
The legislator expressed his belief that the close collaboration and delegation exchanges will help enhance the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and the two legislative bodies in particular.
The Vietnamese legislature backs and promotes the exchange of visits, including those made by the Lao committee and the Vietnam NA’s Committee for Social Affairs, in order to increase collaboration and experience sharing between the two sides in various fields, especially in writing law and law enforcement supervision, the host said.
In reply, Phonethep Phonsena expressed his delight at the achievements Vietnam has recorded and hailed the Vietnamese legislature’s preparations for joining the ASEAN Community, which took shape on December 31, 2015.
