Hanoi (VNA) – Nhan Dan Newspaper, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, launched a national walking programme on the morning of August 16, with the participation of people and armed forces across 34 provinces and cities, covering 3,321 communes, wards, and special zones nationwide.

The event was part of activities marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025), and the traditional day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 – 2025).

Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of its Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan and co-head of the programme steering committee, said the event was a concrete and practical activity to foster a healthy lifestyle, step up law dissemination, crime prevention, and the all-people movement to safeguard national security. At the same time, every step accumulated during the programme was considered a “green step”, contributing to carbon reduction, raising public awareness of environmental protection, and supporting the nation’s net zero target.

According to Sen. Lt. Gen. He stressed that the event was not only a physical activity but also a public campaign on law dissemination, crime prevention, and strengthening the people’s security position, thereby contributing to promoting the image of a strong, safe, and responsible Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.

From July 25 to August 16, citizens nationwide actively registered online via the official portal cungvietnamtienbuoc.nhandan.vn.
