Nguyen Khac Than appointed as Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee

The Politburo has decided to assign Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Yen province for the 2025-2030 period, as Secretary of the 20th Party Committee of Nghe An province for the 2025–2030 term.

Nghe An (VNA) - The Politburo has decided to assign Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Yen province for the 2025-2030 period, as Secretary of the 20th Party Committee of Nghe An province for the 2025–2030 term.

Under the decision announced by Standing Vice Chairman of the Organisation Commission Hoang Dang Quang at the Nghe An provincial Party Committee’s conference on November 11, Than leaves the the Party Committee and its Standing Board of Hung Yen province and ceases holding the post of Deputy Secretary of the Hung Yen Party Commttee to join the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board of the Nghe An provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 tenure.

Earlier, Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Nghe An provincial Party Committee, was appointed by the Politburo to join the Hanoi municipal Party Committee and its Standing Board, and serve as Deputy Secretary of the capital city’s 18th Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure. He has also been nominated for election by the Hanoi People’s Council to the position of Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee.

In his remarks upon assuming the new position, Than expressed his great honour at being trusted and entrusted by the Politburo with a significant responsibility – the leader of the Nghe An provincial Party organisation during a new stage of development.

Than pledged to devote his utmost efforts and highest sense of responsibility to the overall development of the province; firmly uphold the Party’s leadership principles; demonstrate pioneering spirit and exemplary conduct; and work in solidarity and unity with the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board to continuously renew thinking and leadership style, inherit and promote the valuable achievements and experiences of previous generations of leaders, and resolutely strive to successfully fulfil the goals and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the 20th provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term./.
