Hanoi (VNA) - The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has plans to carry out six infrastructure projects with total investment of 6.05 trillion VND (266.2 million USD) in 2017.
Of the sum, 2 trillion VND (88 million USD) have been earmarked for the second phase of expansion of the Tan Son Nhat airport’s international terminal.
Another 2 trillion VND will be used to expand terminals and apron of the airport in the southern resort island of Phu Quoc, so that it can serve 5 million passengers per year, meeting the demand of the increasing flow of tourists to the Pearl Island.
Meanwhile, the Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi is set to receive 1.2 trillion VND (52.8 million USD) for upgrading.
This year, the ACV aims to welcome 27 million international and 64 million domestic arrivals, while total cargo throughput is expected to reach 1.18 million tones.
It also targets to increase the total flights for 2017 by 11 percent from last year to 617,000.-VNA
