Poland plans to open some more embassies in ASEAN countries in the near future to further intensify its flourishing bilateral ties with the bloc and its member countries.

Addressing a recent ceremony presenting his credentials to ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh in Jakarta, Polish Ambassador to Indonesia and ASEAN Tadeusz Szumowski spoke of how he valued the bloc’s central role in maintaining peace, security, stability and development in the region. 

He also expressed his wish to further boost the fruitful ties between Poland and ASEAN, which is regarded by the European country as one of the most successful and increasingly influential regional organisations in the world. 

For his part, Minh encouraged the Polish ambassador to explore cooperative activities between ASEAN and Poland in the mutual interests of the two sides. 

He also briefed Ambassador Szumowski on the progress of the ASEAN Community building, and stressed that the guest could play an important role in fostering cooperation between the two sides as well as in the framework of ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations.-VNA
