Tokyo (VNA) – A visiting delegation from the Vietnam Association of Administrative Sciences (VASA) held a working session with Japan's National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo on November 7, where they shared experience and discussed research and training cooperation.
Talking to GRIPS President Hiroko Ota, VASA President Tran Anh Tuan commended the Japanese institute’s significant role in training hundreds of Vietnamese strategic-level officials in recent years. He expressed his hope for working with GRIPS to carry out more joint research and administrative skill training programmes.
Tuan said Vietnam is currently focusing on implementing significant policies, particularly Party General Secretary To Lam’s direction on building a streamlined, efficient, and effective state apparatus from the central to local levels, with people playing the central role.
VASA hopes to collaborate with GRIPS from 2025 to implement short-term training courses on administrative, leadership, and management skills for both public and private sectors, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources in Vietnam, he said.
For her part, Ota said the institute will work with VASA to reach agreements on course content, lecturers, and implementation methods to meet the latter’s training needs.
While in Japan, the Vietnamese delegation also visited the headquarters of the Japanese Communist Party and the Embassy of Vietnam./.
Vietnam, RoK commit to stronger public administration cooperation
Vietnamese Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra and the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min agreed to strengthen cooperation in public administration between the two agencies during their working session in Seoul on July 15.
