Hanoi (VNA) - The 1st congress of the National Assembly Party Organisation for the 2025 – 2030 tenure, held a preparatory session in Hanoi on September 24 under the chair of Secretary of the NA Party Committee, and NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

NA Chairman Man acknowledged and highly appreciated the Standing Board of the NA Party Committee, full-time deputy secretaries, the NA Party Committee’s committees, subcommittees serving the congress, supporting agencies, affiliated units, and all Party members, officials, civil servants, and employees of the legislative body, the NA’s office, and the State Audit for their active participation in preparing for the congress.

The congress’s documents have been meticulously prepared by the Standing Board of the NA Party Committee, incorporating feedback from multiple agencies and the Central Theoretical Council, therefore the documents were highly praised for being concise, focused, clear, and easy to remember when they are submitted to the Politburo, Man said.

The top legislator affirmed that the first congress of the NA Party Organisation for the 2025–2030 tenure holds great significance in shaping the strategic and era-defining activities of the NA and guiding the country to enter into a new era – the era of the nation's rise.

He underscored the need to maintain the Party character in the NA Party Organisation, noting that while democracy should be promoted, unity and focus are essential to promtly institutionalise the Party’s policies.

The NA Party Organisation needs to urgently complete the organisation and staffing of its units and arrange its committees to ensure that the organisation and operation of the NA Party Organisation streamlined and highly effective, he said.

Party organisations in the NA Party Organisation, the NA Council for Ethnic Affairs, the NA’s committees, the State Audit, and the NA deputy delegations must operate regularly and effectively, improving the quality of NA deputies, he said. The NA Standing Committee must closely follow the programme this year, and the law-making programme for the 2026-2031 term that is being prepared to be submitted to the Politburo.

Attention must be paid to organising forums on the NA’s supervisory activities and law-making to improve the quality of law-making.

It is necessary to further strengthen coordination between the NA with agencies across the political system, in law-making and legal enforcement; review the organisational structure and apparatus of the NA agencies; and carefully prepare to successfully organise key NA’s important events in the time to come.

Earlier the same day, NA Chairman Man led a delegation to lay wreaths and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum.

The first congress of the NA Party Organisation in the 2025 – 2030 tenure is expected to see the participation of 300 official delegates, representing 2,804 Party members of 11 Party organisations subordinate to the NA Party Organisation.

Its official session is scheduled to take place on September 25 morning./.
