Hanoi (VNA) – The standing board of theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee held a press conference inHanoi on September 20 following the conclusion of the ninth VFF’s NationalCongress for the 2019 – 2024 tenure earlier the same day to announce itsresults.
Speaking at the event, Vice President and Secretary Generalof the VFF Central Committee Hau A Lenh said the VFF set the goal of renewingits operations, strengthening political alliance and great national unity,representing and protecting legitimate rights and interests of the people;conducting social democracy, supervision and criticism; and stepping upindustrialisation, modernisation and global integration during its tenure.
The Congress elected a 62-strong Presidium and 385 people asmembers of the Central Committee.
Half of the committee are non-Party members, 21.3 percentwomen, and 26.2 percent ethnic minorities. Members aged below 40 account for 11.7percent while those aged 44 – 60 make up 48.8 percent and the remaining agedabove 60.
Tran Thanh Man, Secretary of the Party Central Committee andChairman of the VFF Central Committee (eighth tenure), was re-elected asPresident of the VFF Central Committee (ninth tenure).-VNA
Ninth VFF National Congress adopts new charter
Delegates attending the ninth National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on September 20 discussed and adopted the charter of the organisation, while appointing members of the VFF Central Committee.
