Red River Delta Civilisation on show

The event is part of the 2013 national tourism week’s activities taking place in Hai Phong city.

Through 300 artifacts and objects, domestic and foreign visitors wereintroduced to the achievements, characteristics and life of the deltaresidents during the time of Dong Son Culture and Dai Viet (Great Viet)country under the Ly, Tran and Le dynasties between the 11th and 18th century.

The event highlights the developmentof metallurgy via artifacts such as bronze drums, a collection ofworking tools, weapons and jewellery.

Thearrangement of the display’s topics wants to confirm that a brilliantcivilisation appeared in the Red River Delta before Chinese and Indiancivilisations spread and influenced Southeast Asia, the northern regionin Vietnam in particular, said Nguyen Van Cuong, Director of theVietnam National Museum.

He also said theRed River Delta civilisation established Vietnam’s traditions and lifestyle, and sets a solid foundation for national development.-VNA

Visitors enjoy Thai environment, lifestyle at Hanoi festival

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts. They also enjoyed traditional dances from many regions of Thailand, tried making Khanom Krok coconut cakes and painting patterns on silk, among other activities.
