Quang Ninh (VNA) – Vietnam won2 - 1 over Cambodia in the opener of the men’s beach volleyball at the ongoingSEA Games 31 on May 15.

In the first two matches, TeamVietnam 2 beat Cambodia 2 - 0 but Team Vietnam 1 lost 0 - 2 to their Cambodianopponents, leading to a golden set where the hosts earned a 2 - 1 win.

Australian expert Adam Maskell of Vietnam held that the players’performance was not bad, but they still lack experience and need more learning.

The same day, both the Philippinesand Thailand secured 2 - 1 victories over Singapore and Malaysia, respectively.

The women’s beach volleyball gamesalso kicked off at the Tuan Chau international tourism complex in Quang Ninhprovince later on May 15.

At SEA Games 31, the men’s eventsattract the participation of eight countries with 16 teams while the women’ssix countries with 12 teams.

Winners of 13th International Photo Contest honoured in Hanoi

The organisers received 13,236 works from 1,054 photographers representing 31 countries and territories. In addition to the prestigious awards presented by the VAPA, this year’s contest was sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), which grants Medals and Honourable Mentions (HM) for the four sections: Open Colour, Open Monochrome, World in Focus, and Portrait.

Germany’s Tübingen Academic Orchestra to perform in Vietnam

The two-night concert will feature the Tübingen Academic Orchestra under the baton of conductor Philipp Amelung, alongside Professor–guitarist Dang Ngoc Long and pianist Nguyen Viet Trung. Guest performers include young violinist Do Phuong Nhi and cellist Tran Hong Nhung.
