The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the Danish Embassy in Vietnam on July 17 co-organised a seminar on the application of electronic traceability towards a sustainable development of Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products.

The event aimed at raising enterprises’ awareness on electronic traceability and its impacts on business competitive advantage in the international market.

Representative of the Sac Ky Hai Dang Science and Technology Services JSC presented Traceverified - a project on electronic traceability service with the support of the Danish Government’s Global Competitiveness Facility (GCF).

The seminar also analysed regulations on farm product traceability of Vietnam , the EU, the US , Canada and Japan .

Participants at the event recommended that relevant agencies issue regulations encouraging the adoption of electronic traceability, and establish cooperation relation with international independent standard organisations.

They were also updated with new software systems for electronic traceability and ways to implement them in Vietnam.-VNA
