Singapore (VNA) – Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinatingMinister for National Security Teo Chee Hean is paying an official visit to theUnited Kingdom from March 22-26 in order to intensify multifaceted cooperation.
According tothe Prime Minister’s Office, Teo had meetings with UK Minister for the CabinetOffice David Lidington, Secretary of State for Defence Gavin Williamson andMinister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation SamGyimah, among others.
Both sidesreaffirmed the longstanding and multifaceted relations between Singapore andthe UK, while exchanging opinions on measures to strengthen cooperation insecurity, monetary and economics.
They alsohad a wide-ranging discussion on international security as well as developmentsin Asia and Europe.
At Teo’smeeting with Secretary Williamson, they discussed the UK’s defence cooperationwith Singapore and the Five Power Defence Arrangements, which will commemorateits 50th anniversary in 2021.
After the UKvisit, Teo will visit Ireland from March 27-29.-VNA
Singapore, UK boost intellectual property cooperation
Singapore and the United Kingdom (UK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 21 to boost cooperation in intellectual property (IP) and trade.
