Hanoi(VNA) – The second APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM 2) and related meetings continuethe agenda with an array of meetings and workshops in Hanoi on May 10.

They include bilateralmeetings held within the framework of the 26th Automotive Dialogue (AD26)and a Symposium on Promoting the Employment of Persons with Disability organisedby the Human Resources Development WorkingGroup (HRDWG) in collaboration with APEC Group of Friends on DisabilityIssues (GOFD).

Meanwhile, the Mining Task Force (MTF) goes on with its two-day meetingfrom May 9, alongside with a Public-Private Dialogue.

The Sub-Committee onStandards and Conformance (SCSC), the Food Safety Cooperation Forum (FSCF) andthe Partnership Training Institute Network (PTIN) enter the second day of the ExportCertificate Workshop.

The Policy Partnership onWomen and the Economy (PPWE) Meeting also continues its second day on May 10.

SOM 2 and related meetings comprise 49 meetings,workshops and dialogues of committees and working groups of the Asia-PacificEconomic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, covering a range of spheres such as tradeand investment liberalisation, business facilitation, human resource development,education, network economy, food safety, science, technology and creativity,mining, automobile industry and urbanisation.

At these events, APEC delegates are expected to speedingup the deployment of long-term cooperation programmes and plans in key areasand reach consensus on documents to be submitted to ministers for approval,laying a foundation for preparing contents and documents for the APEC EconomicLeaders Meeting and APEC Ministerial Meeting in central Da Nang city inNovember 2017.-VNA

Hanoi's National Assembly deputies urged to fulfill commitments to voters

In the third quarter of 2026, Hanoi recorded a strong breakthrough, with growth of 10.02%, exceeding the national rate of 9.95%. This marked the first time the city had achieved double-digit growth this year and its highest quarterly growth rate. Its GRDP growth in the first nine months was estimated at 8.85%, up from 7.92% in the same period of 2025.
