The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has approved aSwiss-funded project to reduce poverty by developing animal husbandry inthe northern mountainous region.
Accordingly, the SwissAgency for Development and Cooperation will provide a non-refundable aidof 1.19 million EUR for the project, which is estimated to cost morethan 2.32 million EUR in total.
The project will benefit theVietnam Institute for Animal Husbandry and the northern provinces ofPhu Tho, Yen Bai, and Son La.
It aims to increase localfarmers’ incomes by providing them with more breeding services andsuitable, sustainable animal husbandry models.
Under theproject, farmers will be enabled to apply breeding skills and knowledgein small- and medium-sized farms, as well as improve their skills to dohousehold business and approach markets./.
