Hanoi (VNA) – “Symphony of the Green Island”, the show produced by Sun Group that captivated audiences throughout the summer of 2025 in Cat Ba, achieved a remarkable double victory at the 2025 Blooloop Innovation Awards on January 22.

This marks the first time a performance production from Vietnam has simultaneously won two categories at the Blooloop Innovation Awards – one of the most prestigious global honours in the entertainment and destination development industry.

“Symphony of the Green Island” triumphed in two major categories: the “Spectacular Award” and the “Public Choice Award”. The Blooloop Innovation Awards evaluate winners not only on scale and advanced technology but also on their ability to shape the future of visitor experiences through original creative vision, compelling spatial storytelling, emotional engagement, and real-world destination impact.

In the “Spectacular” category which recognises large-scale, creatively rich performances that deliver powerful audience impact, “Symphony of the Green Island” outshone notable global competitors, including projects from Disney, Expo Osaka (Japan), and Puy du Fou (France) all icons of the international live entertainment industry. This achievement highlights Vietnam’s growing capacity not only to match global standards but in some aspects to surpass them with its unique creative approach.

The “Public Choice Award” is a special category determined by votes from experts and travellers around the world. The success of “Symphony of the Green Island” in this category not only validates the show’s widespread popularity but also underscores the strong emotional resonance it has created with global audiences.

“Symphony of the Green Island” is a rare masterpiece of integrated art, extreme sports, and performance technology, staged on the open waters of Cat Ba and recognized with two unprecedented Guinness World Records: “Largest jet ski formation launching fireworks” and “Most backflips on a flyboard in one minute”.

The entire show is choreographed and performed live on an open-water stage spanning more than 50,000m2, drawing inspiration from the legend of the Cat Ba crane fairy and the Five Elements philosophy in Eastern culture. International athletes from around the world perform in perfectly synchronized formations of jetski, flyboard, and jetsurf - extreme sports that are already highly demanding under standard conditions, and now precisely programmed to align down to the second with music, lighting, fireworks, and laser effects. More than a form of entertainment, the show stands as a rare artistic feat within Vietnam’s live performance landscape.

Since its launch, “Symphony of the Green Island” has quickly become a nightly must-see attraction for visitors throughout the summer in Cat Ba. It not only drew domestic travellers but also made a strong impression on international guests. François Lefèvre, a visitor from Lyon, France, shared, “I never thought Vietnam could organize an outdoor show of this scale. It felt very similar to when I visited Cinéscénie in France, but here it was even more dynamic thanks to the music, fireworks, and extreme sports.”

Beyond guest experiences, the show also played a significant role in energizing the night-time economy and social life of the island. Since the show’s debut, the central Cat Ba area has welcomed thousands of visitors each evening. On the peak night of June 19, the area recorded a staggering 7,000 visitors, setting a new record for the summer of 2025.

The Blooloop Innovation Awards, held in partnership with AREA15 (USA), is a globally respected platform celebrating innovative and imaginative attractions and destination experiences. The judging panel comprises leading industry experts and strategic thinkers from renowned entertainment and visitor destination organizations worldwide. Each year, they seek out and honour projects that demonstrate breakthrough creativity and help shape the future of the global visitor experience.

Winning at the Blooloop Innovation Awards 2025 is not only a recognition for a single show but also holds profound significance for Cat Ba, an island that is steadily evolving into a leading marine tourism and entertainment destination. The show has become a new cultural icon of Cat Ba’s vibrant nightlife and has made a meaningful contribution to tourism growth and the reshaping of the local landscape.

This award victory is also a testament to Sun Group’s long-term vision for developing world-class tourism and entertainment destinations that deeply integrate cultural values with sustainable local development.

Recognised as “Asia's Leading Integrated Tourism Group” by the World Travel Awards for four consecutive years, Sun Group is currently the brand with the most award-winning and record-breaking shows in Vietnam. From “Vu dieu tren may” on Fansipan recognised by the Vietnam Records Organisation as “The most unique cultural show representing Northwest heritage” to “Vu hoi Anh Duong” at Ba Na Hills featuring more than 200 international performers, and the multi‑sensory “Kiss of the Sea” in Phu Quoc performed at the Guinness World Record‑certified “'Largest permanent water projection theatre” in the world, each production goes beyond entertainment to create new cultural and entertainment landmarks for its destinations.

These consecutive international awards and records not only demonstrate Sun Group’s ability to deliver pioneering products in tourism development but also reinforce the group’s sustainable strategy: leveraging culture as a foundation, art as the medium, and technology as the catalyst to create unique, deeply meaningful experiences for each destination./.
