Bangkok (VNA) - The Election Commission of Thailand on February 25 officially certified the election results for 396 constituency seats in the 500-member House of Representatives following the February 8 general election.

According to the commission, if credible evidence of electoral fraud emerges after the announcement of results, the case will be submitted to the Supreme Court for further legal proceedings.

The commission said the announcement corresponds with the legal mandate requiring the endorsement of at least 95% of all 400 constituency seats within 60 days of an election, provided preliminary investigations indicate the polls were conducted honestly and fairly.

In a statement, the commission noted that four constituency seats have not yet been certified due to an ongoing vote recount.

The certification of party-list members of parliament (MPs) also remains under review and will be announced later, it added./.
