A ceremony to sign an agreement on developing tertiary education betweenthe UK and Vietnam took place in Hanoi on November 4.
Signatories were the British Ambassador to Vietnam , Anthony Stokesand the Director of the British University Vietnam (BUV), Graeme Davies.
Under the agreement, Ambassador Stokes, asrepresentative of the UK government, will become member of BUVexecutive board and will directly manage its operations.
Additionally, the UK government will create favourable conditions forVietnamese students learning in the UK by offering preferentialtuitions.
Ambassador Stokes said that the signingdemonstrates close bilateral relations since the two countriesestablished the strategic partnership last year, especially ineducation.
As the first UK university to be licensedin Vietnam , BUV provides courses in the fields of banking andfinance, international business management and marketing management.
The university began recruiting students in October 2010 in Hanoi .It will officially open its main office in the northern province ofHung Yen province in 2014./.
