As Tet draws near, flowers and other decorative plants are in high demand. However, due to flooding and other poor weather, flowers and decorative plant farmers in Hop Ly commune, Trieu Son district, Thanh Hoa have been struggling.
In Hop Ly commune, there are more than 500 households growing flowers and ornamental plants on an area of more than 60 hectares.
Most areas of kumquat and peach land are converted from inefficient paddy fields. Flowers and ornamental plants in the commune in past years have brought high economic value, bringing about annual revenue of about 1.29 million USD.-VNA
