US Ambassador bids farewell to HCM City leaders

HCM City (VNA) – Chairman of theHCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong on October 23 received outgoing USAmbassador to Vietnam Ted Osius, who came to bid farewell to the municipalleaders.

Speaking at the meeting, Phong, who is alsoVice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, praised the ambassador for hiseffortsto foster the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership during his term.

Phong said he believes that the upcomingvisit of US President Donald Trump to Vietnam and his attendance in the APECEconomic Leaders’ Meeting in Da Nang this November will take the ties to a newheight. He hoped that Osius, in any capacity, will continue enhancing the US’s relationswith Vietnam and HCM City in particular.

Osius, for his part, thanked the localgovernment for facilitating US investors’ operation in HCM City and lookedforward to more support from the city for them in the future.-VNA
