Vietnam ’s Ambassador to Algeria , Do Trong Cuong, and Vietnam ’s Trade Counsellor Nguyen Van Mui, have held a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry from the Algerian region of Constantine (CCIC) to boost trade and labour cooperation.

President of the CCIC Omar Mehsas, said that Algerian businesses are keen to tap into Vietnam ’s strengths and experiences in construction, agriculture and seafood products, textiles and garments and traditional medicines.

Ambassador Cuong said that Vietnam is very experienced in construction techniques, producing construction materials and training construction workers. Algeria ’s representative said that they will have more detailed discussions when the Vietnamese Construction Corporation Viglacera, goes to Algeria to attend its International Construction Exhibition in May.

Algeria suggested trading in a number of specific areas and for Vietnam to provide specialists on the ground, for assistance and training purposes.

Omar said an Algerian business delegation will visit Vietnam to lay the foundations for long-term cooperation, adding that the chamber plans to hold a business forum between Algeria , Vietnam , China , Malaysia and Indonesia at a convenient time.

Ambassador Cuong pledged to help Algerian businesses seek out investment and trading opportunities and cooperation potential in other areas between the two countries.-VNA
