A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has recently visited Angola at the invitation of the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.

During the 15-day visit in November, the delegation was received by State Secretary for Agriculture of Angola, Jose Amaru Tati. They discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation in agriculture and agriculture development, particularly in cultivating wet rice, rubber and coffee in Angola .

Jose Amaru Tati hailed Vietnam’s agricultural skills and experience, as well as the country’s development in the field. He expressed his hope that the visit will pave the way for cooperation in areas of Vietnam ’s strengths.

The delegation met with Angola ’s departments of agriculture and research institutes. They made several fact-finding tours to Bie and Luanda provinces and shared with the localities Vietnam ’s experience in rice cultivation models and transport and irrigation systems.

The delegation signed the minutes of a meeting with the Angolan Ministry of Agriculture, according to which, the two sides will work together to develop rice cultivation methods in Luanda province and a pre-feasibility study in the field with the support of Vietnamese agricultural experts.-VNA
