Vietnam appreciates IFC’s support

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has stated that Vietnam treasures the cooperation and support of the International Finance Corporation to the country.
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has stated thatVietnam treasures the cooperation and support of the InternationalFinance Corporation (IFC) to the country, especially when its increasedinvestment has been enjoying practical and effective results.

Deputy PM Hai made the remarks at the reception for Jin Yong Cai,Executive Vice President and CEO of the IFC, a member of the World BankGroup, in Hanoi on September 13.

He said thatVietnam is in the process of restructuring its economy and has highdemand for resources to serve its national development towardsindustrialisation and modernisation.

Therefore,Vietnam wants to continue receiving IFC’s financial and technicalassistance to help it obtain more resources and experience in increasingsocial investment, equitising State-owned enterprises and restructuringthe banking system, he added.

Jin Yong Caiaffirmed that IFC is always willing to support Vietnam in importantspheres during the country’s economic restructuring.

He also expressed his interest in the establishment of thePublic-Private Partnership model in building infrastructure, and pledgedto assist Vietnam in restructuring State-owned enterprises and thebanking system as well as dealing with bad debts.

He stressed that IFC can not only act as an investor, but also call on other investors and companies to invest in Vietnam.-VNA
