Vientiane (VNA) - The sound relations between the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) have a crucialrole in the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivecooperation between the two countries and their people.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung made the statement while meetingwith deputy head of the External Affairs Commission of the LPRP Somdy Bounkhounon March 22 to congratulate the Lao Party on its 63rd foundinganniversary.
At the meeting, the ambassador conveyed a basket of flowers of CPV GeneralSecretary Nguyen Phu Trong to General Secretary of the LPRP and President ofLaos Bounnhang Volachith in congratulation of the Lao Party’s anniversary.
Hungexpressed his delight at the achievements made by the Lao people in the past 63years, affirming that under the leadership of the LPRP, the country has gainedlandslide victories in its national liberation, protection and construction.
He hoped that the country will reap more successes in its renovation process tobuild a peaceful, independent, unified and prosperous nation.
Regarding the special ties between Vietnam and Laos, the Vietnamese diplomat saidthat the successful organisation of the Solidarity and Friendship Year eventsin 2017 is a vivid illustration for the thriving bilateral relations.
The Vietnamese Party, State and people will do their utmost to foster thespecial relationship between the two nations, he stressed.
Somdy Bounkhoun, for his part, thanked the Vietnamese side for theircongratulations, saying that the Lao Party, State and people always remember Vietnamesesupport for the country during its struggle for national liberation anddevelopment.
He stressed that Laos attaches much importance to treasuring the specialsolidarity with Vietnam and has been working hard to elevate the relations.
Earlier, the CPV Central Committee cabled a congratulatory message to the LPRP’sCentral Committee on this occasion. The message wrote Vietnam congratulatesLaos on the great victories it has attained in the past struggle for nationalliberation as well as the current national construction and development.
“Vietnam strongly supports Laos’ renewal process and believes that under theleadership of the LPRP, the Lao people will reap greater achievements in theirdevelopment path,” it said.
Onthe same day, Hoang Binh Quan, head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commissionfor External Relations also sent a message of congratulations to his Laocounterpart Sounthone Sayachac.-VNA
