Of the minerals, bauxite reserves are estimated at 10 billion tonnes, rare earth at more than 9 million tonnes and titan at more than 500 million tonnes.
The department is carying out projects to discover new mines and define the potential of Vietnam mineral resources.
It will also implement projects on uranium exploration in Pa Lua-Pa Rong in Nam Giang district, the central province of Quang Nam, coal reserve survey in the northern region and bauxite resource survey in the south of Vietnam./.
