Vietnam enjoys trade surplus of over 2.8 billion USD in first two months
Total import-export revenue in the first two months of this year is estimated at 96.06 billion USD, down 13.2% year-on-year, with Vietnam posting a trade surplus of 2.82 billion USD, the General Statistics Office (GSO) has reported.
According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's import and export turnover reached 700 billion USD (As of mid-December 2022). It is notable that Vietnam surpassed developed countries in the region to rank second in ASEAN.
Vietnam's total import and export turnover in 2022 is estimated at 732.5 billion USD, up 9.5% compared to 2021, of which exports increase by 10.6% and imports by 8.4%.
Figures from the American Business Association show that the volume of goods imported and exported by sea between Vietnam and the US ranks second in Asia, only after China.
Vietnam’s import-export turnover reached 46.56 billion USD in the first month of 2023, down 25% year on year. However, the country still enjoyed a trade surplus of 3.6 billion USD in the month.
