Politburo member and standing memberof the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Truong Tan Sangmade the statement while receiving President of the Japan-VietnamEconomic Committee Kato Susumu and President of the Japan Federation ofEconomic Organizations (JFEO) Kyohei Takahashi in Hanoi on December10.

Sang spoke highly of the results of theimplementation of the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative as well as activecontributions by the JFEO and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam tobuilding a safe and attractive investment environment in the country.

He expressed his belief that the Japanese side willcontinue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese authorized agencies toeffectively implement agreed cooperation contents.

For their part, the Japanese guests emphasized the positive results of aconference on the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative in the third phase(WT1-3) with proposals to improve Vietnam’s competitiveness and expandJapanese investment in Vietnam, including stabilizing the macro economyand improving tax policies, human resource training quality andtransport systems as well as developing support industries.

The two presidents said the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative was apractical cooperation mechanism that should be effectively implemented,helping improve the quality of the economic and trade cooperationbetween the two countries’ businesses./.
