Vietnam extends sympathy to India over floods

Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang, on July 30, sent a message of sympathy to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind over heavy human and property losses caused by the recent floods in seven states of India.

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc cabled a similar message to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also extended his sympathy to Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.

The flooding incident was triggered by heavy rains during India’s monsoon season, killing about 50 people so far. –VNA
