-National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on July 4 hosted a reception for delegations of Lao and Cambodian women and female entrepreneurs who came to Hanoi for a forum connecting businesswomen of the three countries.

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s freshly ended four-day official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK) was a success, as seen in five aspects, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son has told the media.

Firstly, the FM said, the visit produced many important outcomes, including the release of a joint statement with eight major contents highlighting the progress of the Vietnam-RoK relationship since its upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022, and specific measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics-diplomacy, trade, investment, science-technology, culture, tourism, labour, people-to-people exchange, and new collaboration areas.Read full story

- The Central Public Security Party Committee (CPSPC) convened its mid-year conference in Hanoi on July 4 to deliberate on authorised matters.

- Tourism is a bright spot in Vietnam's economic panorama in the first half of 2024 with revenue from accommodation and food services estimated at 356.4 trillion VND (14 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 15.2%.

- The international aviation market has fully recovered and slightly surpassed pre-COVID-19 levels, Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) Dinh Viet Thang said at the Ministry of Transport’s mid-year conference on July 3.

So far this year, the market has grown by 3% compared to 2019. Vietnamese airlines hold a 44% market share in international passenger traffic, with an average seat utilisation rate of over 77%.Read full story

- The retail sale prices of petrol and other fuels were adjusted up from 3pm on July 4 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 bio-fuel rose by 447 VND to 22,461 VND (0.88 USD) per litre, while that of RON95-III went up by 542 VND to 23,552 VND per litre.Read full story/.
