Vietnam first hosts Osstem World Meeting 2025

In Vietnam, the demand for dental implants has rapidly increased due to rising economic standards and living conditions, along with growing interest in oral health care. Vietnam has also emerged as a hub for medical tourism in Southeast Asia, including dental care, and is expected to see significant growth in the dental industry.

Seoul (VNA) - The Osstem World Meeting, a global dental science conference, is being held in the central city of Da Nang from April 18-19, marking the first time in 16 years that the event taking place in a Southeast Asian country, since its last version in Bangkok in 2009.

According to the Republic of Korea's News1, the conference is attended by around 1,300 dentists from 33 countries, including the Republic of Korea, the US, China, Russia, Turkey, Mexico, Ukraine, France, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, and Canada. The Vietnamese delegation is the largest, with 200 dentists. The main theme of this year’s conference in Da Nang is “Digital Know-How: Path to Efficient Daily Dental Practice”.

The event features four practical programmes on the first day, followed by a total of six lectures, including live surgeries, on the second day. Dental experts from the RoK, India, the US, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Portugal will present new trends in clinical dental practice combined with digital technology.

In 2011, the RoK’s Osstem Implant established a company in Vietnam and opened the Osstem Implant Centre to provide hands-on clinical training for local dentists and increase the number of independent implant surgeries.

The event organiser, Osstem Implant, stated that the Osstem World Meeting is considered the pinnacle of Osstem's clinical education system, featuring the latest global advancements. The company aims to continue supporting dental education, spreading implantology not only in the Republic of Korea but also internationally, and promoting digital technology to improve precision and efficiency in procedures.

Since its inception in 2008, the Osstem World Meeting has been an academic event for global dental professionals specialising in Osstem implants. Except for the COVID-19 pandemic years (2020-2022), it has been held annually in various cities worldwide, becoming a significant global academic conference and a platform for sharing the latest clinical dental treatment methods./.
