Hanoi (VNA) –  Lieutenant General PhanVan Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and DeputyDefence Minister, hosted a reception in Hanoi on April 27 for visiting AirForce Chief of Staff of Indonesia General Hadi Tjahjanto.

During the meeting, Giang highlighted the traditional friendship between thetwo countries, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and PresidentSuharto, and nurtured by generations of leaders of the two countries.

He lauded the cooperation between Vietnam's Air Defence-Air Force Service and the Indonesian National Air Force over the past time, with themaintenance of all-level visits, the sharing of experience, and meetings on thesidelines of multilateral forums.

Giang hopes the two sides will continue to further promote collaborationby increasing all-level delegation exchanges, and sharing their experience in repairingand maintaining aircraft and air force equipment, training pilots and aviation rescue,among others.

Leaders of the Defence Ministry and the General Staff of theVietnam People’s Army will make it easy for the two forces to foster links inthe coming time, he affirmed.

For his part, General Hadi Tjahjanto promised to do his best to promote affiliationbetween the two countries’ air forces in particular and defence cooperation ingeneral, for stability and peace in each country, the region and the world atlarge.-VNA

16th NA’s first extraordinary session seeks to create new development space

The first phase ended with a five-day break from August 14-18, during which relevant agencies will urgently review, explain, and revise draft laws and resolutions.
