An international conference promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in e-commerce was held in Hanoi on October 29.

The event was jointly organised by the E-commerce and Information Technology Agency (EITA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and Japan ’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Addressing the conference, MoIT’s Deputy Minister Tran Tuan Anh said as part of activities in the Vietnam-Japan policy dialogue of the e-commerce programme, the event will boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field.

He stressed that the dialogues on e-commerce policy as well as cooperation in building an e-commerce infrastructure system between Vietnam and Japan over the last five years have made great contributions to Vietnam ’s development in the field, thus helping the country sustainably develop its e-commerce infrastructure system in particular and promote its integration in general.

According to EITA Director Tran Huu Linh, the dialogues with Japan helped Vietnam ’s managers, researchers and relevant agencies access factual knowledge on e-commerce and e-commerce infrastructure in Japan and other countries in the world in order to build appropriate policies to further develop of e-commerce in Vietnam .

At the conference, which focused on topics such as the legal environment for e-commerce; e-commerce on mobile devices, e-commerce and tourism development, and e-commerce in distribution, Japanese experts shared their experience in developing e-commerce-related services.-VNA
