Vietnam launches tourism stimulus programme 2025

With an extensive range of activities and events, the stimulus programme aims to help Vietnam realise its target of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors and 120-130 million domestic tourists this year.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MoCST) has launched the tourism stimulus programme entitled “Vietnam - Travel to Love”, aiming to attract foreign visitors, particularly those from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland, which will enjoy visa exemption from March 1 to December 31, 2025.

The programme will feature various promotional activities, incentives, and major events. Notably, tourist destinations will offer free or discounted entrance fees, while accommodation, transportation, dining, and entertainment services will be reduced up to 50%. A variety of tailor-made travel packages will cater to international tourists’ preferences, including cultural tourism, culinary experiences, ecotourism, golf tourism, and luxury retreats.

The programme will offer special discounts on services, enhancing visitors' experiences. Tourist sites will reduce or waive entrance fees for visitors. Tourist transportation, accommodation, dining, shopping, entertainment, and wellness services will also provide discounts of up to 50%, depending on specific terms and conditions set by tourism and service providers.

Numerous events and activities will be organised to attract tourists, including high-profile international conferences and forums hosted by Vietnam, such as ASEAN Future Forum; 16th Session of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16); Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) Hanoi 2025, and Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE) 2025.

To enhance the effectiveness of the tourism stimulus, collaboration between destinations and service providers will be intensified. Localities, associations, and businesses will develop and market combined travel packages, such as culture and heritage, and ecotourism, agricultural, and rural tourism.

Additionally, partnerships across transportation, shopping, dining, sightseeing, wellness, conferences, sports, and events will be strengthened to create attractive tourism promotion packages and encourage community participation in tourism activities.

Focus on key markets

The MoCST will actively promote Vietnam’s tourism in key markets, particularly Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. A Vietnam Cultural and Tourism Week will be held in these European countries to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Domestic and international airlines will also be encouraged to increase flight frequency and launch new direct routes to meet rising international travel demand.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism will lead discussions and conferences on developing new tourism products, fostering business connections, and organising fam trips for international travel agencies.

A key highlight of the programme is the integration of technology with tourism promotion. A dedicated tourism stimulus website will be launched, allowing businesses and localities to update promotional offers and special events. Additionally, digital marketing efforts via social media platforms and official tourism websites will be intensified.

The programme also encourages Vietnam-based international travel companies to organise tours under the visa-free entry policy, ensuring high-quality services through collaborations with airlines, hotels, and attractions.

To ensure effective and coordinated participation, the ministry has instructed localities to develop their own tourism stimulus plans, leveraging their strengths. Key destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, and Ha Long will play a central role in this campaign./.
