Fourteen Vietnamese businesses exporting and processing agriculture and aquaculture products are participating in the 38th International Food and Beverage Exhibition in Japan (Foodex Japan 2013), which opened on March 5.
Their products, including rice, fish sauce, cakes and beverage, are displayed on an area of 138 sq. meters at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex in Chiba Prefecture.
On the occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development joined hands with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Japanese ASEAN Center to hold a seminar, in which they discussed how to ensure food safety for products shipped to Japan and to boost trade and investment promotion in agriculture, forestry and fishery.
Foodex Japan is the largest international exhibition on food and beverage in the Asia-Pacific region. It is also a good opportunity for businesses in the sector to seek partners and expand their operation.
This year, the four-day fair draws the participation of around 2,500 businesses from 66 countries and territories and about 75,000 visitors. -VNA
