Hanoi (VNA) – Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu and Russian FirstDeputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Vladimir Titov co-chaired the 13th Vietnam– Russia diplomacy - defence - security strategy dialogue in Hanoi on March 4.

In the spirit of traditional friendship, openness, trust and mutual understanding,both sides reviewed the bilateral cooperation in all areas, particularly in politics - foreign affairs, defence - security, and trade - investment as well as cooperationat multilateral forums, while discussing regional and international issues of mutualconcern.

Speaking highly of the efficiency of the strategy dialogue, they recognised theresults that have been achieved over the past time, especially the exchange ofdelegations at all levels in 2023 which laid a foundation to bolster cooperationand promptly remove bottlenecks, making contributions to consolidating the Vietnam– Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The two diplomats affirmed the resolve to maintain and promote the practicaland effective bilateral ties in the coming time, and make efforts to implementthe signed agreements and cooperation projects in the context that the twocountries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of theTreaty on Principles of Friendly Relations (June 1994 - 2024) and the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations (January 1950 - 2025).

Titovsaid Russia treasures and wants to develop its practical ties with Vietnam, and considers Vietnam a trustworthy partner, suggesting the two foreign ministries promotetheir coordinating roles in implementing the bilateral agreements, andpromoting the removal of roadblocks to expand cooperation in potentialfields that meet the development requirements in each country.

As the region and theworld are witnessing rapid changes, it is necessary to maintain the efficiency of the annual strategydialogue to promptly enhance bilateral cooperation, exchange information and coordinateat multilateral forums.

They also affirmed tomaintain close cooperation at the United Nations, the ASEAN-Russia cooperationframework as well as other international forums for peace and stability in theregion and the world.

On this occasion, acooperation plan between the two foreign ministries for the next period was signed./.

Bru–Van Kieu community in Quang Tri gear up for early voting

According to the provincial Election Committee, three polling stations in Truong Son commune – located in Hoi Ray, Nuoc Dang and Doc May villages – will organise voting on March 8, seven days before the nationwide election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, to make it easier for residents in remote areas where travel remains difficult to cast their ballots.

PM proposes “Talented, creative and dedicated women” award

This year’s award went to a group of female scientists from Hanoi University of Science and Technology for their research cluster on applying biocatalysis to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products. The individual award was presented to Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Viet Nga, Director of the Vietnam–Japan Institute of Advanced Technology and senior lecturer at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, for research linked to environmental protection, energy security and climate change adaptation.

Vietnam co-chairs 5th ASEAN–UK joint cooperation committee meeting

Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, Head of Vietnam’s Mission to ASEAN, affirmed that Vietnam will work closely with ASEAN member states to achieve the objectives set for the fifth anniversary year.
