The Vietnamese Government always creates favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the US , Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said.

PM Dung made the affirmation at a reception for Vice Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council (UABC) Keith William and representatives from some major US businesses in Hanoi on October 29.

He said the UABC’s activities have contributed to fostering cooperation between Vietnam and the US, especially in trade and investment.

The Vietnam-US relationship is developing fruitfully in various fields, with the rapid increase of two-way trade that brings practical benefits to both sides, he added.

The PM thanked the UABC for its efforts to promote cooperation between the two nations and suggested the council support Vietnam in negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), with regard to Vietnam ’s real conditions.

For his part, Keith William said that the council’s organisation of its first meeting in Vietnam shows that US businesses have paid attention to and will continue attaching importance to long-term investment in the Southeast Asian nation.

This is an important milestone in the context that the parties are preparing for the conclusion of the TPP negotiations, he said, adding that the successful TPP negotiations will strongly boost cooperation between Vietnam and the US, especially in trade and investment.

He vowed that the UABC will do its utmost to foster trade and investment ties between the two countries.-VNA
