Hanoi (VNA) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has allowed Vietnam to host the Group E qualification matches for the 2019 AFC U19 Women’s Championship, announced the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on October 18.

The qualifiers of Group E will take place on October 24, 26, and 28 with teams from Jordan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam all competing.

Meticulous preparation for the event has been made by the VFF.

Twenty-three Malaysian players arrived in Hanoi on October 17 for training and friendship matches with Vietnamese U17 and Hanoi’s U19 teams. The Jordanian and Singaporean teams will arrive on October 20 and 22, respectively.

Host Vietnam are scheduled to face Malaysia in the opening match on October 24, Singapore on October 26, and Jordan on October 28.

The qualifying round consists of 27 teams, including the hosts of the event’s final round, Thailand. They are divided into six groups and will play in a round-robin format in the group stage to decide winners and two best second-placed teams. The top eight teams of the first qualifier round will progress to the second round, where the four top teams will then advance to the finals, together with Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, China, and Thailand. –VNA
