Ankara (VNA) – Chairwoman of the NationalAssembly (NA) of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrived in Ankara on October 10afternoon (local time), beginning an official visit to Turkey at the invitationof Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Binali Yildirim.
She made the visit after attending the thirdMeeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments in Antalya city ofTurkey.
The Vietnamese delegation includes Chairman ofthe NA’s Committee for External Relations Nguyen Van Giau, NA Secretary Generaland Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Chairman of the NA’s Defenceand Security Committee Vo Trong Viet, and head of the NA Standing Committee’sombudsman board Nguyen Thanh Hai.

At Esenboğa International Airport inAnkara, the Vietnamese delegation was welcomed by Vietnamese Ambassador toTurkey Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Turkey-Vietnam Friendship ParliamentaryGroup Sami Cakir, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in thecountry.
This is the first time a top legislator ofVietnam has paid an official visit and also the highest-level trip by a leaderof the Vietnamese Party and State to Turkey.
The visit aims to continue enhancing thefriendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in thecontext of the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties in 2018. Italso marks a new milestone in developing the friendship and cooperation betweenVietnam and Turkey, as well as between their parliaments.–VNA
