in the central city of Da Nang from May 27-30.
Besides China, the Czech Republic, Romania, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Italy and Uganda, 14 domestic film studios, including privately-run ones, have registered to participate in the festival, organisers said on May 4.
Films on tourism will compete for the first time at the festival, said organisers, adding that the event aims to promote international exchange and honour outstanding works in the field of sport and tourism cinema and television.
During the festival, a photo exhibition on tourism and sports, a walk for health and environment and an international seminar on Vietnam’s sport and tourism movies and television will also be held.
In addition, the organisers will launch a competition for screenplays of films on sports and tourism.
Vietnam will also participate in the Milan International FICTS Festival – Sport, Tourism, Movies and TV in Italy scheduled for October 27 -November 3./.
