VN, Cambodia’s provinces boost ties

The visit is one of the activities to commemorate Vietnam-CambodiaFriendship Year 2012 and the 45 th anniversary of the establishment ofVietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties.

At a working sessionbetween Cambodian provincial leaders and local authorities, Nguyen VanKhang, Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee, affirmedthe traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countrieswhile informing the Cambodian guests of Tien Giang’s socio-economic andservice development.

Last year, the province achieved aGDP growth rate of 10 percent, and attracted 455 million USD in foreigndirect investment (FDI), 3.3 times more than in 2010.

Leaders of Pursat and Kampong Thom provinces introduced the twolocalities’ potential and said they hope to establish investment andbusiness partnerships with Tien Giang.

Tien Giang andPursat signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in manyfields such as rice production, transfer of intensive farmingtechnology, aquaculture, investment promotion and business support.

The Cambodian delegation also visited some key production bases in Tien Giang province.-VNA
