December 26 in recognition of its achievements during 2009-2013 period.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung sent flowers to the unit on the occasion.
Speaking at the granting ceremony, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi said the section is one of the agency’s major units and always completes its assigned tasks.
The unit has produced timely, accurate reports of ongoing events in all fields, from politics, international relations and business to culture, science and technology, he said.
Also, the news section has properly righted wrong information and refuted slanders regarding religious issues, democracy, human rights and the country’s land and island ownership.
It has been granted a number of other medals for its outstanding achievements.-VNA
