The Saigon Invest Group (SGI) has started work on the construction of the SGI Lao Hung hotel, the first of its kind rated three stars in Huaphanh province, eastern Laos.

SGI Lao Hung Hotel is located on an area of 5,642 sq.m in Sam Neua district, next to the SGI-funded " Sam Neua Pearl Tower " monument, according to the company’s website.

The hotel is being built at a cost of 3 million USD and expected to be the largest hotel in the province when it is operational.

The 1,300 sq.m project consists of bedrooms, restaurants, commercial and office spaces and a meeting hall. It is expected to be complete in 2013, meeting increasing demand for recreational facilities in the region.

The project is also expected to contribute significantly to developing Sam Neua’s infrastructure, improving living conditions for its people and speeding up local economic development.

The SGI is one of the leading groups in Vietnam , operating in many sectors including real estate-infrastructure development, telecommunications and information technology, broadcasting, finance and banking, tourism, education, manufacture and construction, and energy and mining.
