Hanoi (VNA) – The World Police Band Concert - Vietnam 2025 officially opened on the morning of August 9 at Hoan Kiem pedestrian street in Hanoi, bringing together police and military bands from across the globe.

Hosted by the Ministry of Public Security, the festival is part of activities marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), the 80th Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force, and the 20th anniversary of the All-People’s Day for National Security Protection.

Attending the opening ceremony were Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, leaders of ministries, sectors and international organisations, as well as Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, who also serves as head of the organising board.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister To stressed that the event is an important opportunity to enhance cultural and artistic exchanges and mutual understanding between Vietnam’s public security force and law enforcement agencies worldwide. It also serves to promote Vietnam’s image and convey the country’s message of being a reliable friend, a trusted partner and a responsible member of the international community.

The two-day festival features two main programmes. The morning of August 9 saw a parade and performances around Hoan Kiem Lake by the bands of Vietnam, Laos, Russia, Siberia, Japan, China, Cambodia and Saudi Arabia. They were joined by thousands of officers and cadets from the People’s Public Security Academy Drum Art Troupe, the cavalry unit of the Mobile Police Command, the Guard Command and the Traffic Police Department.

The international bands perform on the pedestrian street on August 9 and at Ho Guom Theatre on the evening of August 10./.
