Wrestlers take lead at pre-SEA event

Vietnam took the lead in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Freestyle and Classical Wrestling Championships, a pre-SEA Games event, which wrapped up in Myanmar on April 8.
Vietnam took the lead in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Freestyle andClassical Wrestling Championships, a pre-SEA Games event, which wrappedup in Myanmar on April 8.

Vietnam sent 16 wrestlers to take part in the event with all athletes receiving gold medals.

Singapore finished second with three golds and Myanmar third with one gold medal.

The five-day event attracted nearly 100 athletes from six countries inthe region including Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand,Vietnam and host Myanmar.

Vietnamese wrestlers will continue to hone their skills in the Asian Wrestling Championships next week.-VNA

SEA Games 33: Vietnam win gold in women's canoe double

In the qualifying round, they led with a time of 44.875 seconds. In the final, the duo continued to display outstanding form, completing the race in 43.419 seconds, finishing first ahead of strong competitors from Indonesia and Thailand.

Hanoi introduces framework for 2026 Creative Design Festival
