Youth nationwide join “I Love My Fatherland” flag salute ceremony

The flag salute ceremony was simultaneously held at six other locations across the country: Hang Duong Cemetery (Con Dao special zone) and Thu Ngu Flagpole in Ho Chi Minh City; Tri-border Marker at Vietnam–Laos–Cambodia Friendship Cultural House in Quang Ngai province; Mui Doi – Hon Dau in Khanh Hoa province; Lung Cu Flagpole in Tuyen Quang province; and Ca Mau Cape Flagpole in Ca Mau province.

Hanoi (VNA) - More than 500 young people of Hanoi participated in a central-level flag salute ceremony named “I Love My Fatherland,” organised by the Vietnam Youth Federation on August 16 at Van Xuan garden (Hang Dau post).

The flag salute ceremony was simultaneously held at six other locations across the country: Hang Duong Cemetery (Con Dao special zone) and Thu Ngu Flagpole in Ho Chi Minh City; Tri-border Marker at Vietnam–Laos–Cambodia Friendship Cultural House in Quang Ngai province; Mui Doi – Hon Dau in Khanh Hoa province; Lung Cu Flagpole in Tuyen Quang province; and Ca Mau Cape Flagpole in Ca Mau province.

Sharing her feelings about participating in the event, Nguyen Thi Hong Ha from the capital city expressed her hope that there will be more meaningful activities like this to inspire and spread patriotism among young people, while also bringing them closer together.

After the ceremony, the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee presented 800 national flags and copies of portraits of President Ho Chi Minh to the Hanoi Youth Federation; and visited and gave gifts to five families of revolutionaries and policy beneficiaries in the city.

Alongside the central-level activity, the Vietnam Youth Federation's chapters across the country simultaneously organised the “I Love My Fatherland” flag salute ceremony in all 34 provinces and cities, with 3,334 locations at communes, wards, towns, and affiliated units.

They also presented nearly 16,000 national flags and 3,000 copies of President Ho Chi Minh’s portraits; implemented nearly 2,000 practical youth projects and initiatives; and delivered nearly 2,500 gift packages, with a total value of nearly 1.7 billion VND (64,700 USD), to policy beneficiary families, disadvantaged people, and poor students with good learning performance./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
