20 localities to get kids’ playgrounds

Hanoi (VNA) - Forty-five kids’ playgrounds will built in 20 disadvantaged localities starting from next month, a signing ceremony between the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation (HYPO)’s Council and the Southern Rubber Industry Company in Hanoi on September 28 heard.

Costing 10 billion VND (432,000 USD), the playgrounds will be built in areas with large numbers of children of industrial park workers. Construction is to finish by next May.

Chairman of HYPO’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Luong said the joint programme is to mark the 80th anniversary of HYPO (May 15, 1941 - 2021) and the 45th anniversary of the Southern Rubber Industry Company.

He asked relevant agencies of HYPO to effectively evaluate recently-built playgrounds in order to improve quality into the future.

As of the end of August, some 5,700 new playgrounds had been built for children around the country./.
