Hanoi (VNA) – The Phnom Penh Municipal Court of Cambodia has again issued a warrant summoning Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) leader Sam Rainsy for a hearing in July, the court announced on April 26.

According to the document, Prosecutor Vong Bunvisoth summoned Sam Rainsy for a hearing on July 28 over an allegedly defamatory video on Chairman of the Cambodian National Assembly (NA) Heng Samrin that was posted on his Facebook page.

The court also dismissed Rainsy’s request to answer the hearing via Skype.

Sam Rainsy is a Cambodian and French national. He left Cambodia in November 2015 and is now residing in France, according to the Khmer Times.

Previously, the Court issued a warrant for his arrest over a 2008 defamation case filed by Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong in November last year.-VNA
