Kien Giang (VNA) – A Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) delegation onFebruary 24 toured Phu Quoc island district in the Mekong Delta province ofKien Giang as part of their friendly visit to Vietnam.
They visited Bai Vong-Phu Quoc Harbour City Complex in Bai Vong hamlet, HamNinh commune, which covers a total area of 142.31 ha with total initial fundingof 2.5 trillion VND (107 million USD).
The project includes seaportsand logistics, property, entertainment areas, restaurants-hotels and commercialcentres.
The delegation alsoexplored how fish sauce and pearl, specialties of Phu Quoc, are produced, andmade a fact-finding trip to a pepper farm in combination with eco-tourism inSuoi Da hamlet, Duong To commune.
After Phu Quoc, theCambodian delegates are scheduled to visit Ha Tien city on February 26, whichis also the last stop of their Vietnam trip.-VNA
