Hanoi (VNA) – A conference, entitled “Managing and strengthening Brand Strength Index 2017”, convened in Hanoi on December 28 to provide Vietnamese enterprises with proper understanding of brand value and foster the development of Vietnam’s brands.
The event was co-held by brand management consultancy MiBrand Vietnam and UK-based independent branded business valuation and strategy consultancy Brand Finance, with about 100 Vietnamese leading brands, including VNPT, Vinaphone, Mobile World, MobiFone, Vinhome, Vietnam Airlines and more, in attendance.
Brand Finance and MiBrand Vienam are working on long-term projects to help firms create brand values, said Managing Director of MiBrand Vietnam Lai Tien Manh.
The projects started off with strengthening awareness of the significance of intangible assets, developing international-standard tools for measuring brand values and advising on strategic marketing activities for successful brand positioning and how to build competitive advantages, Manh explained.
Samir Dixit, Brand Finance Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, said most of Vietnamese firms focused more on boosting sales through marketing rather than branding. He highlighted the brand as a key business asset that influences the company’s competitiveness and profits. It requires more investment, he noted.
At the conference, the two consultancy firms honoured Vietnam’s Top 50 Brands in 2017 with Viettel topping the list of Top 10 Most Valuable Brands, followed by Vinamilk, VNPT, Vinhome and Sabeco.
The total brand value of the Top 50 Brands this year was estimated at nearly 11.3 billion USD.-VNA
