Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) under the Ministry of Science and Technology has organised various activities in August to promote the national domain name “.vn” among individuals and organisations, with a particular focus on young people.

Notably, after more than three months since its launch in May, the 12 most outstanding contestants have advanced to the final round of the website design competition “BrandID – Digital citizens with the id.vn domain”. The contest was organised by the VNNIC in collaboration with the Lam Dong provincial Department of Science and Technology, Da Lat University, Yersin University of Da Lat, and P. A Vietnam Co., Ltd. The first prize was awarded to Vu Tuan Anh from Can Tho University of Technology and Engineering for his website “Blog – Building a personal brand”.

According to the centre, a prominent common feature of such competitions is that all individuals and teams have developed websites using the “.vn” domain, clearly reflecting the Vietnamese identity. This is a strategic step to form the habit of owning a national digital identity, strengthening trust, and spreading the message: “One individual — one digital identity — bearing the Vietnamese national title in cyberspace.”

Additionally, choosing to develop websites on the national domain “.vn” provides opportunities to affirm personal branding, cultivate skills in design, management, and content optimisation, serving as a digital portfolio that demonstrates competence and national pride.

The national domain “.vn” is a symbol identifying Vietnam on the Internet. Through competitions like “BrandID – Digital citizens with the id.vn domain”, the VNNIC aims to raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of owning a personal digital brand linked to the national domain. From there, it contributes to the goal of popularising the national domain and elevating the value of the nation brand on the Internet.

Individuals, businesses, and communities can immediately register the domain “id.vn” at the following address: https://hiendienonline.tenmien.vn/./.
